India has been hit with a ferocious second wave of Covid-19, putting the overburdened healthcare system under further strain. Millions of the impoverished and marginalised have been particularly badly hit and are struggling to get access to basic critical care and healthcare and medicines. The pandemic is now rapidly spreading to the rural areas, risking livelihoods, health and lives.

XLRI is India’s premier Business School and the oldest Business School in Asia.
The XLRI Covid Relief Fund (XCRF) is an initiative by XLRI alumni(across batches and regions), supported by XLRI, with special focus on the marginalized and vulnerable communities.

The aim of XCRF is to:
Support setup and management of Covid Care Centres.
Supply oxygen concentrators, cylinders and other critical medical equipment.
Support setup and maintenance of Covid Isolation Centres for the underprivileged communities.

The following projects are currently supported by the XCRF.

Rural Jharkhand (East Singbaum District) - Essential Medicines & Medical Equipment, Community Isolation Centres.
Chennai - Oxygen generators, ventilators, beds and BIPAP/CPAP units.
Bengaluru - 100-bed free isolation facility for Covid positive slum-dwellers.
Rural Karnataka (Mysore and Mandya districts) - Incentivise vaccination by providing ration kits to families.

More projects will be added after review and approval. Our implementation partners are selected based on their experience as well as ability to deliver with impact, transparency, and accountability.  XCRF will be managed by a core Task Force consisting of Professors and Alumni across batches and regions.
