How can a student living in backward area compete with the students living in cities like Chandigarh and Delhi?  The answer is simple; Equivalent Education and Exposure. But the problem here is that both the govt. and private sector schools are not functioning properly. Where govt. schools are almost abandoned by the governments and are in worst state, the private schools have become business houses focusing only on marks and percentages rather than overall development. Hence students of these rural areas stand no chance to compete with other students.  Shikshavid School is working to fill that divide and provide students same facilities and exposure as students of towns and cities get.
Shikshavid School was established with a vision to provide quality education with practical knowledge and exposure in sports and other curricular activities. Shikshavid School is in second year of operation has upgraded to 8th standards. A yearlong hard work of our teachers has yielded satisfactory results. We are working  to reduce the burden and hence lowered the stress from young minds and provided an environment where all the students get involved either in sports or extracurricular activities so that they get a chance to explore and nourish their respective talents.

Why do we need funds?
We have started the construction of the school building and are planning to make it the best campus in the state. We have acquired more than 7 bighas of land. The first phase of the campus will include about 15 classrooms, a playground for games and a play area for play group kids. We have done with half the construction of 10 rooms. Now we have to start the construction of other 10 rooms and the playground.

Also  use  of technology is very important in today’s education but it also demands some investment. If we rely totally on fees for these expenditure, we would have to increase the tuition fee and other funds which would make it difficult for the students of poor financial background to study here. So we have started this crowdfunding campaign in a hope to raise required money.
So how these funds would be invested?

• To complete first phase of the building, which require approximately 4-6 lacs.
• To construct the playground which would be 60x40m in dimensions and would cost approximately 2-3 lacs.
• To purchase computers, projectors and musical instruments, which would cost up to 1 lac.

In future we are planning to construct about 50 rooms, an athletic track, swimming pool and one indoor stadium.
But we have limited resources and looking for some generous people, who also dream of a better society and believe that education is the way to do that. A small help contribution from you can help us to build the dreams for hundreds of kids and will also motivate us to keep our fight going.
