<Here's an update from Preethi Srinivasan, founder of Soulfree>

Namaste,

I wish to convey my deepest gratitude to the entire team of Milaap for helping Vikram Kamath fulfill his goal of raising money to help Soulfree buy appropriate wheelchairs for persons with spinal cord injury in India.

As you know, the statistics about spinal cord injury are alarming and much more common than we can ever imagine; one statistic says that spinal cord injuries happen as often as once in every 38 min in the US. However in India, there is no awareness about the seriousness of this condition and many people are affected by it do not receive rehabilitation. On the contrary, they are stigmatised and many are encourage to commit suicide by their own families. Soulfree is committed to changing all this.

So, I'm really happy that we are able to provide good wheelchairs for those who need it most. As and when the wheelchair donation drive is completed, I will update you on all the relevant information.

Thanks again,
Preethi. S

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to made this campaign successful. We reached our goal just a few days after my swim.  Thank You for giving me hope, you people have taught me that an ordinary person like me can make a difference if I believe in myself. Honourable mention to Abhinav Asthana who made a very generous contribution near the deadline and motivated me to push for the goal.

I would be happy to receive your feedback so I can improve next time. I have summarised my swim and fundraising experience in my personal blog kmarkiv.wordpress.com
