Shankarnag Festival The Prime Goal of Every Year

Shankar Nag is a living legend. Even 30 years after his death, he is an inspiration to generation of fans of film and theatre. He was not just an actor, but a social thinker. His contribution to Kannada theatre is remarkable. He made popular the travelling theatre and the 360-degree stage in Kannada theatre. Team Sathvika Rangapayana is a theatre group which dedicates a theatre festival to Shankar Nag’s name. This four-day theatre festival from May 22-25, 2019 includes Drama, and literature events. A special feature is Nagarkatte, which brings together theatre artists who worked closely with Shankar Nag to talk about their memories with him. This year marks the second year of the Shankar Nag Festival. We, the team, are crowdfunding for plays and events to celebrate the tradition the great actor left behind.

Team Sathvika Rangapayana won a Limca award for the play"55 nimishada ondhu prema katthe". Our team regularly performs social awareness drama like "Chandragiri Teeradalli" "Gulabi Gang" and "Gulabi Gang 2".
