Fundraising to set up a healthcare lab in a rural area

Being a Samaritan
Access to basic healthcare shouldn’t be a special privilege but a guaranteed fundamental right of every living soul irrespective of their socio-economic status. Though government shoulders broader responsibility, we cannot disdainfully allow a needy neighbor to suffer in excruciating pain and ceaseless agony. Nemalur and its surrounding 14 villages in the border of AP and TN  fall under this zone. Devoid of any significant economic activity, most of the 75,000 residents in this region are below poverty line earning their livelihood as daily laborers in the farms and performing manual chores. They undergo immense hardship, struggling each day pushing their physical limits to lead a dignified life with a roof over their head. In middle of such precarious situation, when they fall sick it opens up the Pandora’s Box. Even for a simple diagnosis the nearest lab from these villages is at a distance of 15 km, patients willingly avoid this travel as it will snatch them from their daily wages. This triggers a spiraling effect worsening the health condition  further and it insidiously lowers the overall life expectancy of this community. We cannot be passive mute spectators of this situation; it needs attention as well as immediate action.

With this objective Jeevodaya, a non-profit, non-religious and non -political group set out on a mission to provide basic healthcare for these villages. With support of Timken Foundation and private donors we have built a small clinic and have been running it bi-monthly medical camp for last 24 months. On an average we have 60+ patients attending our medical camp which are conducted absolutely at no cost to the patients

Through this crowdfunding campaign we seek to establish a small lab at this facility. This lab, when functional, will immensely help to more accurately diagnose and recommend right course of treatment. In absence of such a facility, treatment is more generic in nature leaning high on expert judgement of the consulting physician.

Your support not necessarily needs to be monetary in nature but can be in the form of procurement and installation of devices whether as a whole or whatever you deem absolutely essential from catalog  we maintain (it covers from simple test tube to sophisticated Centrifugal analyzer). . We invite you to join hands with us in this endeavor of putting smile on a needy face, one at a time

For any questions you may have or to know more insight on the nature of work, feel free to write to us or you can do a spot check at any time of your convenience to assess the scenario first hand. We will be more than glad to respond to your queries and/or facilitate such visits.
