Help 15-year-old Senthil Kumar get treatment for Leukemia

Master Senthil Kumar is a 13-year-old boy born to a poor family from Gudiyatham, a small town in Tamil Nadu. He is the only child to his parents who had lost 2 previous children in infancy. Senthil was diagnosed with a high risk blood cancer, named Acute Myeloid leukemia with an underlying trilineage dysplasia, which is 100% fatal if untreated. The disease warrants 2 cycles of high dose chemotherapy followed by bone marrow transplantation and has got a cure rate of 50%. Chemotherapy has been initiated on time as soon as the diagnosis was made at Global health City, Chennai. Senthil is currently being treated for coexistent invasive fungal infection of his lungs and bacterial infection in blood with high dose antibiotics and antifungals. He is requiring platelet transfusions daily.

The family is finding it extremely difficult to bear the cost of his treatment. Any financial assistance towards his care would be much appreciated.

Dear Supporters,

With the help of your support, master Senthil has completed his chemotherapy sessions and is stable now. He is currently undergoing platelet transfusions once in every two days. He is soon to be scheduled to undergo a bone marrow transplant for cure at Apollo Hospitals.

His father Ravi has matched for his bone marrow donor. Ravi’s bone marrow has been procured and as it’s ready, they’re expecting to schedule a date for the transplant at the earliest. They are currently staying at a friend’s place in Koturpuram near the hospital to regularly visit the hospital for check-ups.

The support of kind-hearted contributors, friends and family have helped them fight the disease this far. Since the bone marrow transplant would cost them over 12 – 15 lakhs appx, they still require more support. You can further support them by spreading the message across social media.
