I am in Kanatal near Rishikish working in a homestay, and I found a family of a women who works here in a homestay where I am volunteering. Her name is Parvati Garthi. She works every day more than 14 hours, with a smile on her face.
She woke up in the morning at 5 a.m., start her day with lightning the woods for cooking on which she cooks breakfast and packed lunch for the family of 4 daughters who go to school and a husband who goes to work as a mason. After that, she works in the field the whole day to grow vegetables and lentils for themselves and some to sell in the market to earn some essential money for education and requirements. Her two daughters help her in bringing the water and woods from the forest. Hence at 6 p.m., she comes to homestay and finishes around 11 pm and goes back after to her home, eats and sleeps with her family to start again for the next day with a hope to get an education for her daughters as she didn't have.
She works on a big farm where produce and sell the products in the market, and after that, she comes to the homestay and prepares dinner for the guests and visitors.
She lives with her family in the same farm that rent to work, without gas, water and practically without electricity (the service is very limited and every day a few hours does not have electricity in the house)
I want to help her to give her four daughters the education that she could not receive in Nepal. She does not have a house and practically only has to eat, but she has an incredible energy and she knows what her four daughters need, just education.
Didi is married and her husband work as a mason, they are from Nepal and need to buy a Land to take the Indian ID and can access to free education.
Actually, practically all the money that they earn is to rent the farm and produce foods to sell in different markets.
