I Am A Teacher is working collaboratively with a South Delhi Municipal Corporation Primary School in Delhi. This collaboration is an attempt to recognize and deeply engage with the possibility of change in government schools. It is aimed at transforming classrooms and schools of diverse socio-economic contexts and developing them as more caring spaces where each child matters. Our endeavor is to create an experiential classroom where children engage in real and meaningful learning.
In last one year we have been able to increase the enrollment of this school from 13 to 135. The children who study in this school come from far off communities. We have provided bus service to students so that they can have easy access to school. 90 percent of children use school transport to come to school. Till now we have been managing the expense for school transport from various external sources. But now we need to find a permanent solution to this problem for this year. Right now more than 85 children are coming in a single bus, we want to divide them in two buses for their safety and security.
The total cost break up is -
a) 2 buses x 7 months - Rs 4,72,000 /-
b) 2 attendants x 7 months - Rs 1,40,000/-
Total- Rs 6,12,000 /-
Please support these children in attending the school of their choice.
