(www.facebook.com/pages/category/Education/Shri-Manik-Prabhu-Shikshan-Samiti-317118952368967/ ) is a charity project launched by Shri Manik Prabhu Shikshan Samiti,(SMPSS) Maniknagar, Bidar, Karnataka, India, a registered non-profit organization with a service record of  more than four decades.

Our organization is striving for educational and social development of the visually impaired children of North Karnataka region. The SMPSS has received the BEST NGO AWARD from the Karnataka State in the year 2014 for its social work in the region. This school is providing excellent support to blind and children with special needs.
Our current appeal is for supporting Shri Manik Prabhu School Blind to acquire a multi-purpose vehicle. The school is only institution of its kind in Bidar region, having all the facilities for the overall educational   development of visually impaired children such as brail training, mobility training, computer training, music and vocational skill development and sports.

The School is currently having about 250 blind students and is in the need of a multipurpose vehicle to carry children for a Medical checkup to Kalburgi twice in a fortnight, which is 66.7 KM from Manik Nagar. So they are given appropriate eye care and other accesses to health. In case of emergency, the vehicle can be used to carry the child to the hospital
Bidar and Raichur are two catchment areas where the SMPSS surveys teams visit to develop awareness among the parents to send their blind or partially blind children to the school.

The SMPSS  survey teams also undertake trips to identify orphans in the area. Sometimes this takes more than a visit to their homes to convince parents to send their blind children to school. These children are required to send back to their parents during vacations or any other emergencies.
The vehicle will also be used to purchase vegetables, groceries and other articles necessary to maintain the hostel.

Having a multipurpose vehicle will immensely help the school in providing better access to health and other facilities to the students.

Cost of the Mahindra and Mahindra Scorpio Gateway is estimated at Rs. 13, 08,250 (Indian Rupees). We would like to raise the money for covering the cost of the vehicle.

We consider this as a worthwhile cause and will help a large group of blind students. If you agree and wish to extend your support, donate generously, please.

Thanks a lot.
President
