How I Met Sookie?
I came across this sweet girl an year ago on the streets of Mumbai across my building. I have been feeding her since but because she lives on the streets, there is no saving her from other dogs, harsh cold, the relentless Mumbai rains and starvation.
Why Sookie needs your help?
The above 3 pictures were taken after she went without food for 5 days because a dog bit her and she relocated in the rains. These are proof that she can no longer fend for herself, she's old and alone. I couldn't find her and when I finally did, she had lost half her weight with her ribs and hips sticking out.Her new 'home' is Expensive.
After relentlessly trying for about an year, I have found a shelter willing to take her in and since she isn't a young dog, she will spend rest of her life there. And the cost of her residence will be Rs. 2000 per month which I alone cannot pay without external help.
I have set the goal to Rs. 50,000 which will cover 2 years of expenses for her stay including food and vaccinations. This doesn't cover any medical expenses that might incur in the coming time for she is old and will require extra medical care.
As you can see in the Pic titled "New domain of Sookie", she has a clean room and a bowl of water, most probably for the first time in her life. This place is kept neat and its resident dogs are looked after. She is also taken out for walks. But this place is expensive and in a way rightly so.
So, kindly help this sweet soul live the rest of life fed and taken care of. I have spent as much as I could. I also feed other stray dogs and give them medication which causes financial stress as well. and now I need assistance. Every little bit helps greatly.
