Hello Everyone. My name is Chitresh Pandit and I am an IT professional living in Bangalore. Recently my maid's daughter saw a sudden decrease in platelets and bone marrow depletion. Initially the symptoms seemed like dengue however, when her condition worsened she had to be shifted from CV Raman Nagar Govt Hospital to St. John’s Hospital Bangalore where she was diagnosed with Lymphocytic Leukemia (Blood Cancer).
Pooja a 14 year old girl studying in 8th standard is a studious girl in a poor family. Her parents, Father Ram a watchman and Mother Geeta a maid, earn just as much to support their 3 kids with education and basic needs. The estimated cost of treatment for Pooja will be around ₹600000 and all their savings have drained with the treatment cost so far. Pooja still needs many chemo sessions and the family is not in a financial condition to bear the cost any longer. To add to the misery Pooja's father had to leave his job because his daughter needs special care, leaving the family completely dependent on their mother's earnings.
Pooja still has a 60% chance of survival and it’s a lot to bet upon. It is a sincere request to anyone reading this for monetary contribution for this teenager who is fighting Lymphocytic Leukemia (Blood Cancer) . It is heartening to see this young soul fighting it out against all odds. She apparently needs 5-6 more sessions and each one of it costs about 1 Lac INR accumulated. Everyone that we know of is contributing in all ways possible and I urge you'll to do the same. No amount is meager and we do have a chance to contribute to something worthwhile. In my opinion contribution to the needy gets more blessings than the one in shrines.
