Am Ram, working in IBM India, at Whitefield, Bangalore. Karnataka Govt has initiated Metro project in several corridors in Bangalore and one of them is Whitefield a prime IT corridor, and the Metro project is good for public mobilization in future. However, as part of this Metro project Whitefield is loosing its greenery almost 50% above which is really a great threat to environment and directly impacts the citizens, employees a lot, as lot of reports on Whitefield climate declared that Whitefield is in severe chronic condition with very high air pollution index in Bangalore.
With the new Metro project, several big tress (50+) aging around 30-40 years are already chopped and lot more in Queue to chop. So we approached discussed with BMRCL & their contractor ITDCemIndia, and requested for transplantation of 100+ trees. With lot of efforts of several discussions for more than 5-6 months to convince them , they now agreed to transplant the trees. And special thanks to, Sri Satya Sai Baba hospital,Whitefield, provided the space to host all these 100+ mid size trees, without which this entire initiative never exists.
Transplantation is high cost project. However ITD/BMRCL are providing the Machinery and labor, which is major expense, but
there are other expenses for materials being used during transplantation like Medicine, Sand , Drip Later pipe for Watering etc.
So, now we are requesting the donors to contribute your best for this noble cause "Save Nature, Save Whitefield" for better environment for future generation.
We will use these funds:
1 Procure Medicine to treat trees
2. Procure Sand used to fill in Pits before tree moved.
3. Drip Lateral System - all 100+ trees should be connected to water very often, hence a drip system will be deployed for watering.
4. If any amount left over from funds raised, will be donated to Sai Baba Hospital for supporting them for post transplantation maintenance like regular watering atleast for next 1 yr to 1.5 yr which costs huge amount, but we donate as token of gratitude.

Please raise your hand to protect our environment!
