My name is Rajashree Pai. I am a resident of Mangalore Karnataka , currently working in a MNC in Bangalore.
2 years back my sister , Ms. Maithri Pai was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension which lead to a lot of health Complications and after 2 years of treatment at KMC Hospital , Mangalore she recovered to about normal state and she was back to Bangalore this month to look for a job.
Last Saturday , 22nd July 2017 , my sister had a sudden collapse as she was not able to breathe due to issue with the lungs and she was admitted to Specialist Hospital , Banaswadi ,Bangalore . As there was not enough facilities and after consultation with Senior Doctors we had to shift her to Manipal Hospital (Old Airport Road , Bangalore) . She is currently admitted in the ITU ward as is being treated by a team of specialty Doctors Lead by Dr. Devananda , Head of the Cardiothoracic unit. Her situation is currently very critical and her last ray of hope for revival is Surgery termed as Septoplasty.
The cause of her current ailment is that her lungs are not able to pump blood normally due to pulmonary hypertension which is creating a very high pressure on the heart. She is on ventilator with added amount of nitrous oxide which is currently maintaining her oxidation level. If the surgery is not done within the next 2 days there may be no chances left.
Currently I am the bread winner for my family of 4. My parent are aged and we are finding it hard to make our ends meet. The Total Hospital Expenses are expected to touch somewhere between 15-20 lakhs. As of now on the 3rd day the running expense has crossed 4lakh Rupees. We are helpless and our financial situation has become critical due to the cost of treatment. Looking at the criticality of the situation and financial condition , I request you to kindly provide us any help or assistance that is possible from your side.
