Save Kaikondrahalli Lake

I started running 2 years ago, and my first steps were taken at the KKH Lake. This is a wonderful piece of land (48 acres of year long water and greenery) near my house and many a times, myself and my group of runners run around the lake and today, we have taken this place for granted and treat it as an extension of our running community!

Off-late many a migratory bird (approximately 50 species) have also been spotted there and these days, you can see a lot of photography students and enthusiasts throng the lake in the early morning hours waiting patiently to spot the birds.

Do we want all of this to go away? Definitely not. In an area of the city infested with tall apartment buildings, garbage dumps and traffic snarls, KKH Lake is the only lung space that we have around and I want to do my part to save the lake (both for the current and for future generations).

The lake was rejuvenated by the BBMP with active involvement from the local citizens and is now almost completely community-funded and managed by MAPSAS Trust.

The operative word is "community-funded" and this means that we need funds to continue to keep this lung space alive! My family contributes actively to this effort and I'm taking this opportunity to request  you to please contribute towards its upkeep.
