Sushila is a loving mother of three who is suffering from Stomach cancer. Her family received this world-shattering news six months ago. Thereafter she went through rigorous treatment involving numerous chemotherapy sessions which collectively cost around 7-8 lakhs, a considerable amount for this modest family of farmers from a small village of Rajasthan. Exhausting their paltry savings and borrowing money from friends and relatives, they somehow painstakingly managed to arrange the money. But all of this proved to no avail as her cancer grew deadlier than ever, crushing all hopes and draining out life and resources from her family.

This amazing woman who devoted all her life to her family, spreading love and joy all along, is being robbed of the fruits of her labour at the sunset of her life. It’s her well-deserved time to sit back and cherish her grandchildren but she couldn’t even see them properly because those little kids are too scared to even look at her. Her children cannot imagine a world without her. Her family wants to shift her from the present hospital in Bikaner to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Cancer Research, Delhi. She is suffering from heavy internal bleeding due to tumour rupture and they are waiting for the bleeding to slow down before they initiate her transfer. The doctors have advised to surgically remove the cancerous tumour which itself would cost around INR 4 lakh. They are in dire need of at least INR 10 lakh for now to keep the treatment going.

                                                                                                                               

Sushila is the mother of a dear friend of mine. She is a very kind, witty and jovial person. Losing her would be very upsetting for anyone who knows her in any way. I solemnly urge all of you to help this woman recover from such horrific ordeal and support this poor family in these trying times. God knows they need all the help they can get.
