My name is Chiranjeevi. I’m working as a cable operator in my village Sirisedu, Ellanthakunta mandal of Karimnagar district, Telangana state. I have a son Aneesh (8 years) and daughter Sahasra (6 years).

This is all about my daughter Sahasra’s ill-health. She is studying 1st class in a private school at Jammikunta town, Karimnagar district. Last year when Sahasra got stomach infection, we consulted a pediatrician. The doctor conducted several tests and identified that the blood cells are very low and new blood cells are not yet all developing in her body. Referred Sahasra to Hyderabad Rainbow Hospital where the doctors conducted tests and revealed that due to defect in blood cells the blood is not clotting (coagulation). Doctors declared Sahasra is suffering from “Aplastic Anaemia.”   First, doctors tried with ATG+ Cyclosporine injections (6 units, each unit costs Rs. 25,000) to test her for any progress. But no use, then they decided Bone Marrow Transplantation is the only treatment to save Sahasra. Unfortunately, my family members’ marrow is not matching with Sahasra’s. We requested for online donors.

Went to many hospitals in Hyderabad (Apollo, Yashoda, Rainbow, etc.) and spent 16 Lakh Rupees till now for my daughter’s treatment. I sold my house and my wife’s ornaments for treatment and nothing remaining to sell further. All the properties vanished. Every month doctors are transfusing blood and platelets to Sahasra until she gets a sibling match and a donor for her Bone Marrow Transplantation. For this transfusion, we are spending Rs. 40,0000 per month.

Even though some donors came forward with some financial conditions, I'm not in a position to bear the estimated treatment cost which is around 30 to 40 Lakh Rupees.

As per the estimation, Indian donor is charging Rs. 15-20 Lakh and the foreign donor is charging Rs. 25 Lakh for bone marrow implantation. Due to the lack of funds, her treatment keeps on postponing. At present, Sahasra is taking treatment at American Oncology Institute Hyderabad, and the consultant doctor is S. K. Gupta.

My wife, Sandhya can’t control her emotions and sometimes cries in front of Sahasra when she asks “Amma when will I play with my friends?... Why are doctors asking me to wear a mask?... Why are they changing blood?... What happened to me? When they are giving the vaccine, it’s very painful, and I can’t bear that pain… Instead of bearing this better to die.”  Psychologically, we were depressed when she asked these questions innocently. We don’t know how to save my daughter. We are finding the all the possible ways to save my daughter; requesting the help of Government, NGOs and some generous persons who can help us. As a part of this, we find this way to run a social campaign to gather funds for my daughter’s treatment.

The funds collected through this campaign will be utilized for my daughter’s Bone Marrow Transplantation treatment.
