3 infants die every 2 minutes in India due to lack of proper nutrition, basic health services, water, or sanitation, according to a report by the UN Inter-agency Group on Child Mortality Estimation.
If YOU think this MUST CHANGE, spend the next 2 minutes finding out how a group of Prime Minister's Fellows is trying to change this situation in remote rural pockets of India, where the situation is much worse, and most often neglected.
Our Key Focus Areas
The First 1000 days begin with pregnancy and continue till 2 years of age. This is called the Golden Period, as critical mental and physical development happens in this period. If missed, such growth is very difficult to achieve later. Therefore, we focus on some of these best practices during the period to ensure every child has a healthy childhood.

What are we doing?
We're working in Adilabad (Telangana) in the tribal area of Utnoor. 
We've expanded the bucket of services to include capacity building of Government functionaries like ASHAs, mobilizing communities to understand the importance of 1000 days', working one-on-one with mothers and building robust accountability mechanisms, all with the aim of improving last mile service delivery. A Glimpse of Our Work
We're working with the mothers, in particular and the community, in general to bridge knowledge gaps, relating to practices in the first 1000 days. It's important that mothers make informed choices.

What do we plan to do with the funds?
This fund would be used majorly for building technology infrastructure, R&D and building systems necessary for scaling up operations to thousands of villages. Some of our earlier work for your reference
Earlier, we've worked in the difficult areas of Sukma (Chattisgarh) with pregnant women and lactating mothers to ensure healthy childhood for every infant. This is the place we developed our first 1000 days' application to track information on the go. We also worked with NRCs (Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers) to admit malnourished children, creating nutri-gardens at Anganwadis, and empowering pregnant women towards full ante-natal check-ups (ANCs) and institutional delivery.
