"Seeing my baby boy for the first time was nothing like I had imagined: instead of being covered in a cozy towel, waiting to be held by loved ones, my son was covered in tubes from head to toe. I longed to hold him, but he looked so fragile. A few minutes after his birth, he started gasping for air and he was taken to the intensive care section immediately. Now my son cannot even breathe without assistance. He's just 2 days old and he's only known suffering all the time. I need your help to save my son" - Vijay Kumar, father.
Vaishnavi had been looking forward to the birth of her baby ever since she got a positive pregnancy test for the first time. She had been counting days till the delivery, eating nutritious food and carefully treading each step she took. But due to unfortunate circumstances, she had to be separated from her baby after his birth and is still recovering from her C-section. Being premature, her baby needs to stay in the ICU for 3 - 4 weeks to get better. Vaishnavi is desperately waiting to be reunited with her baby but she can only do it with your help.
The couple waited 5 long years to see their bundle of joyAfter 5 years of medical treatment and follow-ups, Vaishnavi became pregnant. She was eagerly waiting to welcome her newborn in her house in Hyderabad, Telangana. Her husband, Vijay always made sure to take good care of her and take her to the doctor regularly for scans. Everything seemed normal and fine until the 7th month of her pregnancy. When Vaishnavi was about to complete the seventh month of her pregnancy, her water broke and Vaishnavi had to deliver her baby before the due date. Soon after Vaishnavi delivered her baby, he had difficulty in breathing and he was rushed to the NICU immediately.
Vaishnavi’s baby needs prolonged intensive care for his underdeveloped lungsVaishnavi baby’s was diagnosed with congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a condition where the diaphragm, the muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen fails to close causing other organs such as stomach, intestines and liver move into the chest through the hole leading to poor development of lungs. The baby needed a correction surgery to recover from this severe condition. Vijay Kumar used all his savings and even borrowed money from others to get the surgery done. The baby is making progress and can only get better with a few more weeks of ICU stay.
The little income that Vijay Kumar earns as a DTP operator isn’t even enough to meet the treatment expenses that costs 8 lakhs. “I have spent every paisa that I saved for our son’s future just to keep him alive. I have spent 1.5 lakhs so far, but even that wasn’t enough to help my son recover. Please help me save my son.” says Vijay Kumar with tears in his eyes.
