    This fundraiser will benefit

    Ajay Dharashivkar

    from Pune, Maharashtra

My name is Ajay Dharashvikar. I am a 45-year-old man and currently going through a difficult phase. Last year in December, I fell off a two-wheeler and my left knee bore the brunt of the fall.

Even though I was feeling considerable pain in my left knee, I kept ignoring it until there came a point when the affliction became unbearable. In March, I went to get an MRI done. After going through the test results, the doctor found about median meniscus tear in my left knee. I suffered immense pain. However, even though I consulted local doctors in Solhapur for my condition, I never seriously considered any sort of corrective surgery due to my financial constraint.

"It was the sort of pain I could've never imagined"

Gradually, my relatives began to get concerned about the state of my knee. I could hardly sit or fold my knees. I still cannot. That is when one of my family members referred me to a doctor in Pune. I went there and member referred me to a doctor in Pune. I went there and the doctor told me that it was absolutely necessary to undergo corrective surgery. He told me that if I don't, I might also lose my leg.

This is when I decided to end this inconvenience for once and all and undergo the surgery. Fifteen days back, my doctor scheduled me for surgery but I couldn't make it. I didn't have the funds required for surgery!

"I didn't want my son's studies to take a hit "

I work in a private firm for a monthly salary of Rs. 17,000. My wife, Varsha and I have a 15-year-old son, Atharva, who is currently in class 10. His classes alone cost us lakhs. We can hardly manage to pay off his fees, then how do we arrange more funds for the surgery? As a father, I cannot overlook his career for my discomfort, can I? His studies have been one of the major reason for my reluctance towards surgery so far.

But now, no matter how hard I try, I cannot ignore the pain. It is becoming increasingly difficult to even carry out the day-to-day activities. I wouldn't even consider the surgery if it wasn't absolutely necessary at this stage. Which is why I request anyone who is reading this to please help me and let me out of this ordeal! I will forever be grateful.

How can you help?

For past 6 months now, Ajay has been in severe pain. The surgery will cost him 1.5 lakhs. He can live a pain-free and healthy life if he can afford this surgery. Funds raised through this fundraiser will go towards his surgery and bring a huge relief to the family.
