LET'S HELP GIRLS LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE WITH DIGNITY
In 72 years of our independent existence, India is still unable to promise clean sanitary pads to its daughters. We at Ashok Ashram, welcome you all to be part of an initiative that promise to the same. A contribution of Rs. 500 from your side can ensure that you help a girl from an unprivileged tribal background to lead a life of dignity for the next 12 months.
Background on Ashok Ashram
•Ashok Ashram was founded by the famous social worker and freedom fighter Shri Dharmadev Shastri on 10 July 1942 and registered under the Societies Act soon after.
•Asoka Ashram Residential School is engaged in imparting education to girl students in a region for education for girls is not considered a priority. Presently school has 200 girls from underprivileged backgrounds who are having access to quality education.
•The school is run on aid from The Ministry of Tribal Affairs and contribution from volunteers which barely keeps us running.
•The students have been using cloth instead of sanitary napkins and we are unable to help 200 girls get access to hygienic sanitary pads.
How will we use your contribution?
A major part of your contribution shall be used to purchase necessary menstrual products for the tribal girl students at Ashok Ashram's residential school and a minor part in creating awareness on the same (through workshops) to girls who otherwise would not be able to afford it. You would be giving them a chance to practice safe menstruation and understand the changes taking place in their body; A chance to speak about this in a society where there is a social stigma and this is regarded as a sensitive topic. Be the change you want to see in this world.
