Help Me Attend The Harvard International Conference

Namaste!

I am selected from over 10000 world-wide applications to top 600 who gets the opportunity to represent local issues at the global level. This conference, HPAIR by Harvard University (hpair.org) holds a deep importance confronting the issue of education. In this conference, I am taking forward the problem of our “main-stream” focused education system as goal plan to attract global attention, helping make it more liberal, hence imparting a more holistic understanding of education and better acceptance of all fields of studies among fellow Indians.

I am Samyak Jain, son of a hardworking dairy farmer. I am currently a senior, Biotechnology Bachelors program, at IIT Delhi. It’s been 15 months since I started working on this initiative of making our education system to accept all field of studies, conducted several workshops and helped a few dozen students from over 20 colleges in New Delhi to imbibe more radical thinking towards their future.

I have always been a diligent student since the days of my school, supported and admired.  As an average student, I also felt social insecurities, depression for performing well, suicidal feelings and the daunting JEE training. Yes, I went through the dilemma of dropping for a year to prepare for JEE. Though I had my peers for advising me, not everyone is blessed. After joining college, I have worked at prominent positions in various NGOs with BloodConnect, Vision India Foundation, National Service Scheme, to name a few. For my entrepreneurial skills, I was recognized by Ashoka Foundation. Now I see myself working for the education system of India and create a big change, filling all the loopholes. It’s been a tough journey till now in forwarding the initiative, which we call MyWays, as capitalists didn’t see the potential of making money. Till now, we are able to barely organize our free workshops.

HPAIR is a platform to take this issue at an international level and seek help from experts and talented pool of people from around the globe. But I do not hold enough financial potential to attend this conference, hence I have created this fundraiser. I will be representing our Nation’s hurdle to the development and rational thinking.

The funds raised will be used as per the following:
Conference fee (Includes food): USD 475 (INR 32650 approx)
Flight tickets: USD 290 (INR 20,000 approx)
Accommodation: USD 75 (INR 5250 approx)
VISA fees: USD 30 (INR 2100 approx)
Total: USD 870 (INR 60,000 approx)

Your help would enable me to attend this conference by Harvard University. If I get this opportunity, I would be in debt to people who have supported me, and it would be our success. The deadline for submission is 16 July. I hope, we’ll be able to make it.

Thank you
