With life on the edge, living under the open skies in inhospitable terrain and livelihood threatened, a helpless population is devastated. But, in the face of such odds,  the people are attempting to rise onto their feet again.

They must. And they will.

They would need support from us, both short term and also for the long haul. Many of them are critical for the survival of a fragile Sundarban. They have been protecting the forests, preserving the mangrove bio shield, engaging in sustainable farming, cultivating with the natural processes, restoring and helping preserve the delicate balance between conservation and development.

This fundraiser aims to provide immediate relief and protection. Dry food, tarpaulin sheets, packaged water, carry mats, candles, match boxes, solar lights, bleaching powder, and medicines.

This is the second leg of fund raising and the first through a crowdfunding platform. We have been inundated with request for an easier process than RTGS/NEFT and to allow for payments through cards and other digital channels.

An update on donation and item-wise end use of donated funds is being periodically updated at http://naturewildlife.org/sundarbans/

While the current effort is towards immediate relief and protection from the hostile environment, conversations have started towards a longer-term intervention on housing and livelihoods, factoring in the increased frequency of cyclones in this very fragile and critical ecosystem.

We are also trying our best to restart the supply chain of BADABON HARVEST farm to fork project with the handful farms that may have survived this natural disaster.

We look forward to your valuable input and support in this rebuilding process.

Thanks again!
