Indian classical music has the power and potential
to tranquilize and heel, and generate various emotions in the listeners merely
by the patterns of sounds. This rich and intriguing art form has been kept live
by the Indian musicians from generations, and is one of the heritages of India
that has not lost its splendour and charm over ages.
But the irony is that the artists who
preserve and nurture this heritage like their soul are neither brought into
limelight nor are paid anywhere near the commercial artists. Kirana Gharana
Music Foundation is working dedicatedly to give stage to such pearls of the
music world and generate opportunities for their income.
One such endeavour of the foundation is
Sabras music and dance festival that is an annual event celebrating the
grandeur of Indian classical music and dance. It invites prominent artists to
perform in the festival and gives the same stage to the deserving artists to
bring them into limelight. Launched in 2015, Sabras has given platform to 60
artists. From last year onwards, the festival has become a two-day mega event
and was telecasted in TV channels like Dilli Aaj Tak, Rajya Sabha TV and
Doordarshan.
Apart from this, the organisation conducts
Sabras Baithaks, which are traditional music concerts where artist sits in
close proximity with the audience, enhancing the overall listening and imbibing
experience. This endeavour was started last year and 40 artists have received
benefits from it.
Your contribution to the cause can make a huge
difference in the lives of artists who have committed their lives for
preservation of our musical heritage.
All the donors will receive tax benefit
under section 80G.
