Help Educate Rural Children In Garhwal Hill

Hello,
            My name is Dr Sona Uniyal , M.SC Ph.D and I am raising funds for (KERARAM SOCIETY ) which is working towards the reverse migration by way of education of Garhwal rural poor children. Your small contribution( as small as Rs 100.00)  can change the destiny of many needy children.

 Devbhoomi as the name itself says, the land where the God lives. Today it is facing the dire situation of desertion (Migration from Hills). This mainly due to three Important reason, Education, Healthcare and Employment.
In India, Uttarakhand is a state where we have a large number of holy places. Every year people in big crowds come here to seek blessings; Char Dham Yatra is one of the living examples. Besides, the beautiful range of Himalayas, Uttarakhand is facing a very serious problem i.e. of desertion.

People are leaving their villages and birthplaces and are heading towards the cities. It is not their happiness to do so but due to the lack of resources in the hilly areas, they are forced to do so unwillingly.
Though, the trend of desertion from hills to cities is going on rapidly and figure is heartbreaking.
Amidst this there is a Society under which a family who is fighting this war alone. As they say, where there is a will, there is a way; This quote totally suits this family.
Our whole family  is working hard for the bright future of poor children from the past three years in the field of education.
In order to fulfill the future dreams of poor children, my family opened an English Medium School in extreme conditions.
This school was established in the year 2015 under Keraram Society .
I am M.Sc. Doctorate in Anthropology  and supporting rural education with true determination of change.
The school is named as Keraram Brilliant Minds school. The way, life is very hard in the hills, this decision worked as sweeteness added to the water. I am not alone in this decision, but my whole family also supporting the same. They are supporting me with every possibility. Including my father-in-law Late Mr Bisheshwar Prasad Uniyal, who gave all his life savings to structure the building for school and my brother-in-law Mr. Suryamani Uniyal, who is a pharmacy and Law Degree holder; is falling into the steps with me to provide facilities and techniques for education. While he had many opportunity In Medical and Law field too.

This school was started with the strength of 41 students and this has now increased to more than 165 and count still on. Talking about the government schools, which are closing down due to sharply falling strength of students and thus government has announced for the closing down more than 3000 schools running under them. This will now certainly affect the desertion and flame it in this area too.

Keeping this in mind we are decided and deeply touch to work for these rural poor students who are willing to study here after many extreme condition also.

Keraram School  managing through parents association and  still have space to accommodate more than 350 student  in this school. which need kind hand support.
As villages are scattered here and there and  far located too and thats why it cost  very high towards transportation . As there is no source of government transport facility in these extreme located zones.
It  is pertinent to mention here that it is also very essential to manage and provide at least one time Mid-Day Meal for all school coming children . As many is in acute need of the same.

I am doing my every possible effort in this extreme condition and deserting Garhwal ,so far to maintain this school  major support came from my husband Mr. Harshmani Uniyal (Rtd. Indian Navy Petty officer) and an Ex Navodyan student also . who always aimed  to give back to society being a human .
So far he has spent his entire 15 years savings of for this school. The aim is only one that no single poor family should leave their village due to the lack of education. We all are  trying hard our  best to make people aware about the importance of education and not to desert this Garhwal region for the sake of education.
But now our resources exhausting and need fuel for this small effort which can have big Impact over all.
This effort will merely not provide education but also  generate employment for educated unemployed over here and our evry effort is to stop Migration and start Reverse Migration.
Lets help together to fulfill this dream.
 
                                   This is not our first step for the social contribution.  
 Earlier in 2002 My family had donated 60% of their prime agriculture land worth Rs 2.5 Crore for CHC   Beleshwar (Govt hospital located in Beleshwar) .
 
This school is the second journey they have started for society with remaining of their land.
we are ready to give out every portion of our remaining land for Educational support and social work just needed other noble helping hand upport.

Currently we are managing to provide free education to 27 such student .Though one person can make big changes after many challenges but this will take long way to go .Till the time many other may flee from ther birth land .
This is the upfront requirement  which only can be overcome  by noble helping hands like you all.
Thus it is humble request from you all , being a part of the society it is our duty to make every children educated with smiling face.
                                Hence it is requested from all of you please save the future of these children and also save the Garhwal Himalaya from desertion too.

                                             Here's how the funds will be utilised.

 
                                     Break down of cost required for School children.

1.         Tuition fees required per Student per Month towards : -                                                    600.00
             (Expenditure for teacher and all required staff. which will cost approx between 2.1-2.5Lakhs)
           
2.         School bus fare required per month per child: -                                                            1000.00/Average cost (Villages are far located and is on difficult terrain based where transport  
is urgent necessity as there is no government transport facility in these areas).

3.         Mid-day meal for per child per month: -                                                                           325.00
            (It is very required thing as children come from distant located village).

4.         One time books and stationary cost with 2 set of uniform per child: -                         2500.00

5.         To teach one child per year cost (inclusive of all): -                                                           25600.00


6.         Projected estimated cost for 350 student which included (tuition fees, transportation and one time mid-day meal )etc: - 89, 60,000.00 (Eighty Nine Lakhs and Sixty thousand rupees approx).
