What does Enable India do? 

Enable India is a registered charitable trust founded by Shanti Raghavan and Dipesh Sutariya with a mission to work for the economic independence with dignity of persons with disability. EnAble India’s core activities include employment of people with disabilities, pre-employment services, supplemental education, counselling and support services, consultancy and training and technology services.

Evangelist, creator and provider of world class computer training for people with vision impairment trains over 200 candidates every year, works with over 400 companies, average 15-20 new roles and 4 new innovative workplace solutions identified annually. EnAble India has placed over 2500 persons with various disabilities across 26 sectors and 20 locations across India.  

EnAble India offers training and placements to people with visual and hearing impairments, physical disabilities, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, mental illness, developmental delays and more. 

EnAble India offers free courses in computer basics and medical transcription for the visual impaired, business process outsourcing for the hearing impaired, pre-employment orientation, and so on. Lasting from a few weeks to a year, these programmes accept people from all economic backgrounds. Trainees are also encouraged to give back to society through their involvement in environment-friendly initiatives.

Persons with disability in India find it difficult to find employment. They are often not aware of the jobs available and nor are they equipped with the right skill, education or attitude. 

EnAble India trains and counsels persons with disability, prepares them to join the mainstream workforce with confidence. Private and Public Sector Organisations, barring a few, are unaware that persons with disability too possess the talent and commitment to be part of a productive workforce. There is also little awareness about the fact that the disabled can work efficiently in a variety of functions with the help of simple technology and other assistive aids. 

GOALS:
 

1. To empower the disabled: visually, physically and hearing impaired.

2. To enable the rehabilitation of people with disabilities through supplemental education, extensive training and providing assistive aids designed for daily living, education and for the work place.

3. To enable employment for people with disabilities. This will help people with disabilities fulfil their potential by being part of the workforce and enjoying successful jobs and careers.

4. To build the next generation of people with disabilities who are confident, assertive, smart and independent.

We believe that each person with disability can fulfill their potential and be an asset to the company. The goal of any employability training is to enable the candidate to achieve his potential. Based on the candidate’s skills, attitude and aptitude, EnAble India will suggest courses best suited for the candidate.
