This is a plea for help for Kathak Maestro Shri Narayan Prasad who has devoted his entire life teaching Indian classical Kathak dance to young kids to make them aware of the essence of traditional Kathak dance form. He is an excellent teacher and performer who has not only won prestigious awards in All India Music & Dance Competitions but also has been honored for his contribution to Indian classical dance by prestigious institutions like Sanskar Bharti, Snatan Dharm Sabha & Kala Sadhak Sangam.

At present he is facing a financial catastrophe due to series of personal tragedies and the Covid pandemic. His younger son met with a road accident in Jan 2018 and suffered a head injury requiring series of operations. His long ailing wife with heart disease passed away in March 2018. This was followed by another setback when his elder son got a heart attack and had to be admitted for intensive care treatment for a long duration. Sadly, during this time his daughter in law also developed a chest and lung infection and had to be hospitalized. His dance school also had to be closed due to the pandemic last year and there has been no source of earning since then. In the last 15 months the family has lost all savings and assets for the medical expenses amounting close to $37,000 and is struggling to make both ends meet. They are unable to start their dance school without financial help.

Any help for my teacher Pt Narayan Prasad will not only go long way to help him and his family survive this difficult period but also significantly contribute towards the cause of preserving the prestige & legacy of Indian classical dance form.
