According to National family Health Survey 2015-16 of India only 36% of menstruating women are using sanitary napkins .A large amount of female population use old rags,hush, ash, leaves, mud and other such life threatening materials to manage their flow. The issue can increase a chance of contracting cervical cancer, reproductive tract infections, low fertility rates and even more serious diseases.The problem is more sensitive in underprivileged women section. The lack of education for managing personal hygiene among them and unavailability of cheap sanitary pads make the situation more severe.
Although menstruation is most fundamental process in human beings but Taboos surrounding this exclude women and girls from many aspects of social and cultural life creating potentially harmful implications. According to a survey, many young girls misses their school during the cycle due to absence of resources.

I am Ritika , a social worker , currently working with "Hamari Pehchan " NGO trying to improve the reproductive health of underprivileged women by raising the awareness among them and enhancing there limited knowledge about the taboos and hygiene practices.

I along with NGO will be helping them  by distributing free sanitary napkins and knowledge of their use .
On World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Hamari Pahchan NGO distributed Sanitary Kits and it came in limelight on Republic Bharat news channel.
Hamari Pahchan NGO has distributed more than 30,000 Sukhad Kits in 2021 and their aim is to distribute at least 50,000 Sukhad Kits to women. These kits would include 24 packets of Sanitary Pads 6 packets of Soap and disposable paper envelopes.
Sukhad Kit for 1 woman = Rs.1400/-
Sukhad Kt for 5 women = Rs.7,000/-

For this change we need contribution from your side so that no girl have to miss their school ,be ashamed  and no woman have to lose  life due to shortage of money.
Your smallest step will help these underprivileged women to live more healthy life.
