Rishab Sharma, a 21-year-old from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh is now fighting for his life after being involved in a serious road accident. This unfortunate event has left the brilliant student and a Defence aspirant with several head injuries, a fractured leg and his finger was cut down during the mishap. He his hospitalized  for nearly a week, with severe injuries to his brain. His uncle, brother Abhimanyu Sharma & his sister Richa Sharma have exhausted all their resources in providing for his treatments up till now.

Rishab, a BBA graduate from St. Aloysius college, was also part of NCC during his graduation. He represented Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh Directorate in the prestigious Republic Day Camp in Delhi. He was also selected for the Youth Exchange Programme to Kazakhstan. He was a bright student who had plans of joining the Indian Army and had his Service Selection Board Interview scheduled on 13 th December in Bhopal which he would unfortunately not be able to attend due to the accident.




“It was just another night for all of us. My brother, Rishab was coming back home after watching a movie around 1.00 am on 9th Nov 2018 . I was asleep and suddenly my phone rang. I usually keep my phone in silent at night but that day I did not. I picked up the phone to get the shock of my life - my brother has met with an accident and he was being taken to the hospital. I remember the voice on the other side of the phone telling me something more but all I could think about was Rishab’s face when we had left home before going for the movie.” Richa Sharma-, Sister of Rishab  Sharma.

No one had anticipated that a movie would turn so dangerous for Rishab.


Rishab met with an accident on the night of 8th November 2018 where he lost his index finger and suffered a severe brain injury. He also had multiple bone fractures on his leg and that need to be fixed. He was on his way home riding when the biker who was over speeding had a head on collision with Rishab’s Activa. The biker fled from the scene after the accident leaving them lying on the road. SP Amit Singh luckily was going through the same route and saw them lying on the road. He immediately called up 100 and made sure they were taken to the hospital.



Rishab was also part of an NGO named Spread the Smile and worked for the betterment of the students of a nearby government school. Even though he lost his mother in November 2017 who was the sole bread earner in his family, Rishab did not stop helping other people in need. He was taking care of his grandfather alone for the last one year.
