The 'meh' kit riding out depression was created by people who were in a depressive episode which they called the 'meh'. The beauty of this kit is that it comes from a place of fracture, of brokenness and in creating this kit there is healing and warmth.   What the kit provides is an understanding of what a depressive episode can feel like, and interactive tools to help ride out an episode. This self- help kit is simple to understand, interactive, engaging, and full of warmth and hope.  A prototype of the kit has been tested with audiences in Chennai and Bangalore and the reactions have been extremely heart-warming, here are a few lines from those who have engaged with the prototype:

"found it beautiful and empathetic without being overwhelming."

"I felt that I needed to hold those cards with me and use them in the different situations I encounter throughout the day."

"What blew me away was how well thought of every single item in the kit was."

"The main notion in the cards is validating someone's emotions"

" I also felt that I can live my life with different narratives in my head and that can be very liberating, through using the phrases written on the card."

"It made me feel powerful, as the opposite of helpless."

"The small yet impactful illustrations spoke so well with me and made me smile ear to ear throughout."

We need your help to produce our first batch of 350 kits which will help people who ride out their depressive episode.

A depressive episode always ends, but during the episode, it is one of the darkest times a person can go through. The kit is designed to help people understand their episode and ride it out. The kit has many elements to it, it uses illustrations to explain what a depressive episode can feel like, it has a DIY element to it, and also provides tools to ride it out which helps battle self-talk, alienation and even tiredness. What is unique about this is that the kit can be interacted with and personalised to the users needs.

This kit is not a diagnostics tool and does not help the user identify if they are depressed and it can be used along with therapy and medication.

Please help us reach our goal and produce 350 kits to help those who need it in their darkest hours.
