Help Ranjana Fight Cancer

I am Ranjana and this fundraising is for me . I am 79 and a widow. I have been deteced with Obstructive Cancer in the Bile Duct and need to undergo Whipple Surgery, a major surgery to remove it. The surgery and post operative care and medication to sustain will will cost approximately 6,50,000 rupees

I have been an English teacher for nearly 45 years now helping my students acheive their dreams and forge a strong career path ahead. Through my hard work and dedication to my passion of teaching I aim towards helping many more!

My husband suffered from Kidney Failure hence I exhausted all my resources and savings. Curently staying with my daughter and her family who have been going through a major financial crisis.

My operation was due on the 16th of July. The funds that would be raised here for me will be used for the operation, pre-operative and post-operative care. I require the amount at the earliest to be able to undergo the operation and continue to persue my passion.

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for all the love.

Since my last update I have undergone all necessary evaluations primarily the heart and the brain to ascertain my readiness for the impending Whipple's Surgery.

The conclusion is that there is a risk factor in this surgery due to my multi ailments in the heart, brain, deep vein thrombosis etc

Hence the head of the department and anesthetist Dr. Namrata declared me as a high risk for Whipple's Surgery and advised against it

The next option was a by pass but Dr. Namrata advised against it as well.

Upon consulting Dr. Ramachandra who is the Director at Kidwai Hospital I have been advised to undergo the by pass surgery as soon as possible because he is extremely confident that I will come out safe and recover.

Should I not get operated the cancer will not be arrested and I will be at a higher risk hereafter.

You all have contributed to my cause so far. I request you to share this within your circles so that it reaches the maximum number of people who may join this cause to support me

I am determined to go through the surgery and come back stronger to fulfill my VOW of teaching and creating world class citizens in India

Wishing you a fabulous 2019

Regards,

Good Morning Respected Donors

I am extremely happy to share that my treatmen has been revived

I am in consultation with the doctor (Director, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology) and he is personally looking into my case with an assurance that he will himself operate on me...he said he performs one of the highest numbers of Whipples surgery in Bangalore and I need not worry too much

This would not have happened without your support of prayers, well wishes and funds

We still have a long way to go in terms of fundraising - we are at 49,500 while the requirement is 6,50,000

The doctor intends to operate as soon as possible so that the interventions though well past its time will arrest the deterioration of my condition immediately and ensure I recover to get back to my goal of raising capable global citizens

With deepest gratitude

Respected Supporters and Well Wishers,

Wanted to share an update with all of you. There has been an increase in the funds raised towards my surgery.

The funds raised now stands at 49,500 and the total amount required for the surgery is 6,50,000.

The lifespan of my stent has expired in July 2018 and with each passing day the surgery is becoming an emergency requirement

I am visiting the Kidwai Cancer Hospital this week for a fresh restart to my treatment based on your generous and thoughtful contributions. I was forced to abort my treatment and had kept it on hold all this while as we did not have any funds at all.

I am confident that with your love, prayers, good will and word of mouth we will generate the rest of the amount soon...in fact, I am now keeping a target date of 21st Dec 2018

It is absolutely imperative that I live to realise my dream of shaping the youth into global citizens and I am confident that you all are with me in my journey of making this possible

With the deepest gratitude,
Ranjana
