Help Rakhee And Family Fight Health & Financial Crisis

I am Ganesh and writing on behalf of our friend and society resident Rakhee Sudhir who is married to Sudhir Kumar with a lovely daughter and a son.

Rakhee is PhD Scholar @ Christ University, Bangalore, India, FDP IIM Indore, PGCHRM - XLRI. She has worked with SCTIMST, Leela International
Ltd (HR Head), Faculty at School of Communications & Management Studies (SCMS), Kochi, Faculty,Asian School of Business.
Both her kids are in school and her husband Sudhir is currently pursuing PhD @ XLRI

Rakhee has been going through an unfortunate medical crisis for the past few months.

She was admitted to Fortis hospital, Bangalore on 3rd May 2017 for a minor gall bladder stone issue and was to be discharged the next day. But fate had other plans and the minor issue escalated to pancreatitis, necrosis and other complications which led to many surgeries and extensive drug therapy.

Unfortunately the infection she is carrying today is drug resistant hence requires expensive antibiotics. Rakhee has been on ventilator for close to 2 months now. At present she is kept in a special ICU unit with the operated areas unstitched so that the infection can be treated. Its heart wrenching for anyone to even have a look at her while Rakhee has been going through this pain for the last 2 months.

The medical has touched 38 lakhs INR.  As of today, they do not have any financial options and they need additional 20 lacs (30,000 USD) to continue hospitalization till the infection is in control.

Sudhir is running pillar to post managing daily chores for their kids at the same time managing the hospital events. When I look at the man who has lost hope in Sudhir and watch the kids waiting for their school bus every morning, I feel helpless at the same time desperate to help this family.

I place my trust and hope with the 7 billion people on this planet for this family of four through this fundraiser.

Thank you for your contribution, wishes and prayers.

A note from Sudhir, Rakhee's husband.

Hello All,

Permit me to apprise you, the background and current situation.

My wife Rakhee Radhakrishnan (MA, M.Phil, PhD PGCHRM-XLRI, 2015 Batch, FDP 2016, IIM IndPhDscholar @ Christ University, had worked with SCTIMST, HLL, LEELA INTL, SCMS, ASB, CILD) has been admitted to Fortis Hospital, BG Road, Bangalore, since 3 May 2017.

The issue started with a minor gallbladder stones condition. She underwent ERCP, Laparoscopic surgery and the Doctors were optimistic of discharging her on the 4th day, but unfortunately, there were some complications, pancreatitis, necrosis, colostomy, illeostomy and simultaneously also developed severe infection.

Further many procedures, surgeries, were done but regrettably, the infection is pan drugs resistant bacteria, requiring expensive antibiotics.

Rakhee was doing well under the care of Dr Aashish and team ( Dr. Rajiiv Anand, Dr. Ramesh, Dr. Roopesh, Dr. Nikhil, Dr Shradha MICU team Dr Ullas, Dr. Garud Chandan , Dr Padmakumar) and of course the wonderful team of Nursing staff ( Sisters, Gina, Judy, Beny, Neena, Sreekala, Vijayalekshmi, Leena).

However again there were many other complications. She is in ICU, on ventilator for the last 35 days. The bills and medications have touched 38 Lacs plus. She will require hospitalization for another 15-20 days (only, hopefully) and but owing to the costly drugs and being on ventilator we may need another 20 lacs plus (not sure of the bills). Dr. Aashish Shah and his team have been amazingly supportive, medically (no iota of doubt), financially and above all emotionally.

The unfortunate part again is that both of us, had taken a conscious, perhaps ill planned decision to take a sabbatical. I am on sabbatical for the last 3 ½ years, pursuing my Ph.D at XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Incidentally Rakhee, is a Rank holder for the PGCHRM course at XLRI, 2017. We returned from the XLRI convocation on 10 April 2017 and then the hospital situation developed.

Should you need any more confirmation on genuineness/authenticity please contact Dr Siddesh email: siddalingaswamy.km@fortishealthcare.com or Dr Aashish Shah (Chairman, Genl/Laparoscopic Surgery, Fortis, Karnataka)

Even a small contribution from your end or sharing this with your network will help a lot.
