Rakesh Malik is not a celebrity. He is not a news headline and he is not even from Kolkata - the city itself. So you may not know him.
Rakesh Malik is a son of a poor daily wage based labor Mr Sukumar Malik. Mr Sukumar Malik and his family lives in Janai, Hooghly - a suburban area 23 KM away from Howrah. He earns a meager 3000 rupees per month, at the best of his months. We can only pretend to feel what it is to run a family of 4, with 2 kids studying - with that money.
Rakesh is suffering from Seronegative Spondyloarthritis since last 6 years and has been under continuous treatment in CMC, VELLORE since long. People from their locality are helping them out on ad-hoc basis since quite a few years now. Otherwise it would not have been possible for Mr. Sukumar Malik to continue Rakesh's treatment as long as he did.
However, now, we are in a juncture - where Rakesh needs to receive injection Infliximab Biosimilar (4 doses) as per CMC, Vellore. It would cost them around 63000 rupees.
While for Mr. Malik alone it is impossible to arrange for this fund, as he is completely broke already, with the treatment cost of his son for last 6 years - but at the same time, if we, the people can come together and donate as much as we can, without making it difficult to us anyway - it would save the life of a 26 year old young man, who can grow on to become a life support for his entire family.
So on behalf of the whole village of Janai, the neighbors of Mr. malik and his family - we urge to the people at large - please come forward and contribute to save Rakesh!
