Help my mum fight cancer!

Thank you so much for reading this. This donation page has been established to help my mum with her long road ahead. This fund has been set up to cover costs related to her cancer treatments

My name is Priya Srinivas and I am a Bangalore resident .My mother, Mrs Raja Lakshmi (Nickname: Girija) , who lives with me in Bangalore, , India has been recently  diagnosed with multiple myeloma also called as plasma cell myeloma, an extremely rare form of cancer involving her blood cells. Her bone marrow is packed with malignant plasma cells, which caused a multitude of lesions and fractures in her spine
Needless to say, everyone was shocked and her immediate family (her brothers and sisters) have been supporting my mother for the battle she faces in the months to come. My mum is determined to fight! She is a widow with me only to support her, financially. She is our family’s inspiration and surely a role model and mentor to all of us. Life came to a halt, for the all of us. This has been a very trying time for our family both emotionally and financially.
She has a very challenging road ahead of her next few months who requires high dose Chemotherapy followed by Stem cell Transplant in the hospital and we are overwhelmed by how expensive the treatment can be met. Clearly the costs of treatment (chemotherapy), Consultation with the Doctor, Blood tests, emergency hospital stays (if needed) and stem cell therapy treatment can be incredibly expensive
There are two phases to the her treatment major costs associated with her treatment
Phase 1: The first step of her treatment chemotherapy – alteast 16 weeks of chemotherapy (one dose per week)
Each chemo session costs about Rs 25,000- 30,000 rupees (approximately $450-500 USD). This can easily cost close to Rs 4,00,000 - Rs 4,80,000 (Rs 25000 x16 Weeks)
She has already started rounds of chemotherapy at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, India
Phase 2 Followed by Stem cell therapy
The next possible step after chemotherapy is a stem-cell transplant and this can cost anywhere from Rs 25-30 Lacs Indian rupees approximately
All these are excluding any emergency admission in case it is needed
We are running this campaign on how to raise money for her care.
She has no insurance and for chemotherapy has required that we pay the full amount upfront for each dose.
As much as we wish we as a family had all the money to pay for all of this, we don't. We are trying our hardest to do what we can, and we need all the help we can get. While chemotherapy and a stem-cell transplant are the biggest costs, there is also medication, doctor's visits and everyday needs - all of which add up very, very quickly.
