Pushpa is a normal school going kid. A month ago, she started developing rashes on her body and she had mouth ulcers. She had sudden gush of bleeding from her mouth and nose. She was admitted in a Private Hospital at Bagalkote and was under treatment for her low platelet count. She was diagnosed with ITP which is an auto-immune disease where the immune system mistakenly destroys platelets. Inspiteof her regular treatment, her platelet count was not improving.
With a reference from one of the doctors, we shifted her to Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore. She was admitted under emergency and it is here she has been diagnosed with severe Aplastic Anaemia. She requires a bone marrow transplantation.
With reference from friends, BGS Hospitals has agreed to do the transplantation at 12 lakhs. Dr.Anand Kumar Consultant - Hematologist and BMT Physician, BGS Global Hospitals has taken up the case.
She is a daughter of a farmer at Bagalkote and belongs to a lower socio-economic status. Her family cannot afford her treatment without external financial support.
