It is an absolute human certainty that no one can know his own beauty or perceive a sense of his own worth until it has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another loving, caring human being.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Meet these children. They are from a village named Ballartop of Shibgunj area, at Basanti, Sunderban. They have been pulled out of their school because their parents couldn't afford the cost. These people are so poor, that getting a square meal every day seems like so much to ask for.
We are running free coaching classes, Free medical banks where doctors visit once a week to treat patients, and we also train the women and the youth of the community on various vocational skills, using locally available resources.
By far it is still a self-funded activity, where the majority of the cost comes from individual donors and from institutions like Rotary Club and Lions.
With your help, we will buy books, exercise books and other consumables, build up a three more facilities where we can conduct the classes, and also a part of it will go to pay the doctors so that they feel the urge to visit regularly (without money, many of don't seem to be enthusiastic enough) and also, buy some medicines.
We are also looking for corporates and institutions to come forward and help us. This is a huge area and we do not have enough support to scale up this project beyond a certain level on our own.
Please Help.
