Malnutrition is endemic among tribals women and children due to deficiency of  regular animal protein in their diet which leads to poor quality of life.

Backyard poultry can provide eggs and meat to tribal farmers  if they rear scientifically . By rearing 5-6 nos of desi hen one family can have 100 eggs in a year .

Harsha Trust  a not for profit organisation has been working with tribal families in south odisha and plan to cover 1000 tribal families under this project. The fund will be directly transfer to individual farmers' bank account where each family will purchase 5-6 nos of desi birds and poultry feed.
