We seek your support to help fund the next wave of growth of our venture peacockcolours.com an ecommerce site that focuses on handcrafted work by Indian artisans. Created with an intent to democratize online shopping and selling with impetus on authenticity, uniqueness and artistic appreciation. Launched in late 2015, this has already garnered a wide customer base across the country and overseas.
This one visit in 2014 to Channapatna, a small town 60 km away from Bangalore changed my life. A place that is widely known for its wooden toys and lacquer ware had street vendors selling China made products in the name of Channapatna toys. It hurt on seeing the plight of affairs. Despite the artisans of this lovable craft being alive their craftsmanship was de-glorified over imitation products. Then was born the first sapling for Peacockcolours. Indian roots were going to be heralded through whatever idea that followed.
