My name is Guru Prasad. I started Shine Home for destitute and orphaned children in 2005 in Bangalore. I focus on the children who are orphaned or abandoned or abused and whose parents are unable to provide them CARE and LOVE. We adopt these children and provide them shelter, food and proper education. At present we have 25 such children at our children’s home with a new hope, life and future.

Concerned by the affliction of children on street and child laborers, the mission began in a small room of 10x15 ft with 20 children in the year 2005. It began with empty hands with no funds or any form of resource. All that was available was the courage & commitment to perseverance.

My vision for the project is to set one sustaining happy home giving quality education and quality life for at least 50 children.

What do I plan to do with the funds?
Past four years I am running the children’s home in a rented house paying Rs. 10,000 per month rent. Every month we require 2 lakh 60 thousand rupees for paying the school fees, house rent, transportation and food expenses. Today, we are in urgent need of funds because we are struggling to cope up with the expenses. We have been unable to pay the yearly school of 2 lakh 80 thousan rupees. The school has already given us 2 extentions to pay but we couldn't manage. The school has now given a 2 month ultimatum after which the children will be forced to stop going to school.

We also need funds for the day to day expenses and the monthly expenses like food, medical expenses, transport and rent. Your help can ensure that this dream home continues to provide a secure future to these young talented children.
