Meet Prashant student of class first, his father died in an accident and his mother works in a leather factory to make ends meet.Due to lack of work and money she has not purchased books for next academic session and he might dropout of school this year. There are many like Prashant.
We are involved in working towards the upliftment of the children from weak socio economic background.As we brave the lockdown, let's not forget there will be life after the ordeal.As we emerge safe, we need to make sure that all the children go to the school and learn regardless of their circumstances.
Covid-19 is adversely effecting millions of children in rural India.Due to loss of their parents livelihood many children will not be able to attend school located in the Village Peepar Khera in U.P, our school is no exception.We estimate 50% of the students will not be able to pay the nominal fees that we charge, fees that pays the salary of teachers, conveyance and ensure the school sustainability.
We are doing our bit, we are reducing the financial burden on parents and have done away with the school uniform, we have not charged any fee for the lockdown period, never taken any admission fee but we still need some help and we seek your kind support to ensure that the school remain operational and not a child is left behind.
We need funds for?
In 2017, we started this school with 37 students and five classrooms that accommodate max 20 students.Last year we even used our library to run a class.At present there are 25-30 students in each class, total 155 students and we expected 75-100 new admissions.
We knew if we don't have more classrooms, we won't be able to admit more students this year.So we planned to construct 8 more classrooms by the end of June.But due to lockdown work is on hold since March and only 5 classrooms are constructed.We need funds to construct 3 more classrooms, furniture, almirah, fans, blackboard etc.
⚫ Area of one classroom is 20×22 feet, which is equal to 440 sq. feet. Construction of 1 sq. feet cost Rs.800.
⚫ Study kit cost Rs.1500 - 2000 per child.
⚫ Annual school fee of a child is Rs.6000.
⚫ A set of desk and bench cost Rs.1600.
