Help 3-year-old Ayaan battle a severe blood disease

When Ayaan was not even a year old he was diagnosed with a severe blood disease called Thalassemia.

What is Thalassemia?
Thalassemia is a disease of the blood, where there is increased destruction of the blood cells. Since such a patient does not have an adequate number of blood cells, they suffer from anaemia, which makes them extremely weak, dizzy and lightheaded. It can also cause an enlarged spleen and a damaged liver. It even breaks down the immunity and causes jaundice.

Ayaan, has been suffering from this disease for the last two years and is in chronic pain with a persistent loss of appetite. Ayaan has been undergoing a number of blood transfusions in order to treat his condition but that can be equally dangerous as it causes an overload of iron in the body which can become life-threatening.
After 15 days, Ayaan's decline starts. He needs a blood transfusion in a week to be revived. He becomes weak and unable to move. His parents have to force him to go to the hospital because he is afraid of needles. A bone-marrow transplant is the only thing that will cure Ayaan's blood disorder and make him better.

However, Thalassamia is hereditary and sadly, Ayaan's younger brother, Arfath is also a victim to this deadly disease and they both need to undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant.
Brothers, Ayaan and Arfath suffer from Thalassemia

This is a huge reason for devastation and concern among their parents who not only need to save their sons but also pay for their treatment.  Ayaan's father, Maqbool, earns only 6000 Rs a month and cannot afford the treatment for his sons.

“The minute they know we want to visit the hospital he starts hiding and crying. I have to physically pull him and take him to the hospital. Having to violently force him every month is very upsetting for me and my wife. But without the blood transfusion, he will not survive. It is not a choice,” explains Maqbool.

Ever since the doctors have told him that a bone-marrow transplant can make his children better, Maqbool wants to get that for his children. Even though they cannot afford a bone-marrow transplant, it is the hope that keeps them going.

Maqbool needs our help to fund Ayaan's treatment which needs to be done urgently. Your contribution can save Ayaan's life.
