Help US Build A Home For Acid Attack Survivors

"When dreams die, they do not make much noise. When hopes are crushed, the signs are soundless."

Acid corrodes gently. Eating away at her skin, bones and her dreams. The rest of her life begins now. A battle against unending, excruciating pain, deformity, social negligence, ostracisation and an invisible justice system. When a girl is attacked by acid, she is also relegated to the fringes of society, consigned to its dark recesses. Often, forced to hide away from society.
It is these faces that Chhanv Foundation and Stop acid attacks attempts to bring to light, from behind the veil, neglect and fear. Stop Acid Attacks is a call, a campaign against the brutality of acid violence. When we launched on March 8th, 2013, a determined resolve to bring these unseen, unknown stories to the fore, guided us.
Chhanv Foundation works as a bridge between survivors and the society, as the two come to stand isolated from each other when a girl is attacked with acid. The foundation provides them urgent and adequate medical and legal aid, and rehabilitate them by finding alternate sources of income. It also connects them with potential donors and supporters for these urgent needs. Most significantly, the organization's endeavor is to motivate and strengthen the survivors. To reassure them that confidence can be the spring in their step, and faith can fuel their dreams.

Dear Friends,

We are glad to have such a lovely support from all of you. The Sheroes Home is successfully continuing its operations & providing the shelter to the acid attack survivors. With all your love, it has completed a one year & on the very first-anniversary Sheroes Home is going to host a mega event called as The Gala Meet 2018-19 of Sheroes on 20th & 21st Dec 2018. Please find the details of the event below;

The Gala Meet 2018-19 of Sheroes
This two days workshop is open to acid attack survivors, their loved ones, trauma workers/volunteers, allies and everyone in between. Campaign Stop Acid Attacks welcomes self-exploration, healing, solidarity, community building, and self-care through Sheroes Hangout at its Noida center while empowering participants to be in control of their own empowerment.
We aim to bring around 50 acid attack survivors together to highlight the plights of the victims of acid attacks in India. We are inviting all survivors of acid violence in our network who want to learn about sharing their stories of survival to enact cultural change and/or further their own healing.

To the bring the maximum number of acid attack survivors under a roof to let them know the attack, the trauma they faced is not an end but it is a beginning of the second phase of life. The event will host the survivors which are associated in either way with Sheroes Hangout & even who are still living with the isolation and agony. The grand meet would be happening on 20th & 21st December at trauma relief center called as Sheroes Home located in Noida which was started a year ago especially for the women & child victims of acid attacks to provide the pre & post hospitalization relief. All the survivors coming to this mega gathering will be given special care, a special meal will be organized along with a musical evening for their entertainment. With this, a few workshops and seminars will be organized on acid attacks for them. These seminars would be intended to open discussion in the following relevant themes;

Social & Psychological perspectives of Acid Attacks.
Social Exclusion of Acid Attack Survivors.
Adequacy of laws dealing with the acid attacks.
Rehabilitation of acid attack survivors like easy access to employment in the private & the Govt. sector.
Efficacy of victim compensation schemes.
Sensitization & Awareness to the Public.
Efficacy of Punishments.

We wish the outcome of the event would definitely help the survivors to perceive that the acid attack is neither an end to the life & dreams nor is the fate of life.

At Diwali we provided the financial assistance to more than 10 survivors, the details have been attached.
