I have always believed in these words of Norman Borlaug, "Food is the moral right of all who are born into this world." The COVID-19 pandemic has created a hunger catastrophe in India. To curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, states imposed lockdowns and strict restrictions which resulted in loss of existing livelihood and emergence of hunger crisis. It is disheartening to see that in the year 2021, India was ranked 101 out of 114 countries in the Global Hunger Index. Over 33 lakh children in India are currently malnourished.

I believe eliminating hunger is an obtainable goal if small contributions are made by every individual. As a volunteer at Hamari Pahchan NGO, I request you to kindly join in. Every contribution, no matter how small it is, can make a huge impact on our ability to end hunger.
