Let’s build the road to recovery
Drivers are at the heart of everything we do. As the entire nation has come to a halt, so has each driver who helped us move forward.
Drivers are at the heart of everything we do. As the entire nation has come to a halt, so has each driver who helped us move forward.
Remember Nitesh, who safely drove us home late at night, Joseph who made sure we got to that meeting in time, Ashar with the loudest thank you, and Jyoti with the longest anecdote about her ups and downs in life.
Meet Pawan Kumar, a driver who exemplifies this hard-working spirit by still showing up every single day, to help move our frontline healthcare workers.
For all the times they went the extra mile for us and our families, safely returned belongings we left behind and lifted our spirits after a hard day - now it's our turn.
The Uber Care Driver Fund
We have announced immediate grants through the Uber Care Driver Fund, with an Uber-funded corpus of INR 25 crore to ensure support for drivers.
- Each eligible driver's family will get a grant to meet their essential needs.
- This will be an outright grant that they won’t have to repay.
- As of 23rd April, the first 55,000 drivers have received cash grants for immediate and essential family needs from the Uber Care Driver Fund
This fund is in addition to the initiatives we have undertaken since the beginning of the lockdown - waiver of lease rentals, facilitation of EMI relief, provision of micro-credit & insurance solutions, and access to free unlimited consultations from doctors online.
Here’s how you can support
We invite you to contribute to this fund and help the ones who have always moved you forward. Your contributions will go a long way in providing additional support to drivers.
This is a 100% not-for-profit campaign, and we will disclose the disbursement progress of the fund in a transparency report. This will be shared with all contributors at the end of the campaign, along with regular updates to donors on the website.
Even as we all stay apart, let’s come together to help the driver community move past these trying times.
