My husband Anup is 44 years old with no pre disease, non smoker, non alcoholic, needs urgent lungs transplant. He is the only earner in the family with wife and two kids, who are in class 10 and 1. He runs a small consulting firm and his five full-time employees and their facilities are financially dependent on his quick recovery.
Coming from a small village of West Bengal, he always wanted to do something good in life, so that he can help his extended family, friends and the villagers in need. With all the blessing and love of all his well-wishers, he was the first student to crack JEE examination from his village, and successfully completed Civil Engineering from Bengal Engineering College which is one of the most prestigious college in West Bengal. After few years of working in a big construction company, he left his job and started his own company with the motto of creating jobs for others. He helped and trained many people from his village and improved their employability. He regularly donates in community activities and to the people in need. He is a well known personality in the local community for his generosity and helping nature.
Unfortunately, on 15-Sep-2020, he was admitted in ICU in CMRI, Kolkata after contracting COVID. He was given all possible COVID medications there. Although he finally became COVID negative after 45 days, he developed irreversible Lung Fibrosis. Both his lungs have been permanently damaged. For further treatment, he was shifted to Frotis Hospital, Kolkata, but after 15 days of treatment, doctors confirmed that the lung condition is deteriorating and only option left is the lung transplant. This is a very expensive treatment, and we do not have financial capacity to go for this option. So, it's our earnest request to all of you to extent your help.
The estimated cost for this operation is roughly 1 crore at MGM Chennai. Transfer by air ambulance is 15 lakh, Pre-operation waiting time with ventilator or ECMO support is 40 lakh. Operation cost is 30 lakh and another 15 lakh for post surgery treatment.
Till date we have already spent 20 lakh and hoping to be able to arrange another 40 lakh by collating the last penny we have in savings and selling all our assets. However, we still have 60 lakh of shortfall.
Doctors confirmed that once this operation is successful, the patient will be able to come back to normal life. So, please please help us in whatever way possible to give him a new life.
