India's plastic waste generation has more than doubled in the last five years with an average annual increase of 21.8 per cent, the Centre said.
Polluted by single use plastic….
Six times more plastic waste is burned…
         Plastic waste management crisis….
             Chocking the capital…..
Scared by such lines in newspaper
But I Believe
Small changes eventually add upto huge result.
I am Mudit Bansal student of class XI A of DPS Mathura Road. My mom called me greenie from my childhood. When I was 4 years old, I had taken pledge for no crackers Diwali or green Diwali which still I am following. We used to celebrate Diwali by decorating our house, eating delicacies, and distributing gifts to poor people. I don’t like any type of pollution which is created by humans, and which can be controlled purely. This pollution can be burning of dry leaves, dumping of untreated waste on soil or enormous amount of plastic waste generated. I strongly believe in 3 R i.e., Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
I want to say that as a responsible citizen on earth we should all take care of mother earth. We all can take small steps to make it better place to live and preserve it for future generations. When I am looking at doubling of plastic waste in merely 5 years, I am really shocked and want to stop it as early as possible. If we all decided to be plastic free than this non-biodegradable waste will be eliminated completely.
As a small step, I want to revive the drive of using cloth bags instead of plastic bags which was already being going on. Cloth bags, because of their reusable nature, help reduce the amount of single use plastic being used and inadvertently discarded into the environment.  They're economical, more sustainable, and might just give you the peace of mind that you're preventing plastic pollution with every use.
Unemployment and poverty are biggest issues in our country. For development of our country, we need to give importance to skill development as through this we can fight with unemployment and poverty. Women are backbone of our society if they will be skilled and earning for their livelihood than it will have great impact on our society. Empowerment of women is necessary for socio-economic development of any country. Women helps in better development of children and hence an increase in their literacy rate is the need of the hour. Women if given the opportunities and the right exposure can excel themselves in any field. Since girls and women represent 50% of the world population, enabling them to participate in their local economics help broaden the employment pool.
I want to raise funds so that I can help in providing raw material for stitching of cloth bags and those funds can be utilized for skill training of under privileged woman. I will be working on this project with the help of NGO Hamari Pahchaan. Hamari Pahchaan has done such types of project earlier also which will be advantageous. I am excited because through this Self-Employment and Skill-Building both can be achieved.
So, let’s do what little or more we can do to make it a reality
