Summers in northern India are hot and individuals that need to work for 10-12 hours in the heat have little time to rest or get away from the heat. In lieu of this my family distributes free meals outside a temple in my hometown, Ludhiana. Last year, we made the decision to try and increase out impact on the community and distributed over 2200 meals and 3000 servings of cold beverages. This was only possible because of the incredible support of some incredibly generous individuals and volunteers within the community that dedicated their time to help us.

This year, we are aiming to continue to grow this to over 5000 meals in the community. Our ultimate goal is continue providing these meals annually and try and aid the community gradually in this way.

The community at Semester at Sea and the Institute of Shipboard Education have been incredible so far but more donations would be enthusiastically appreciated -- the more the donations, the greater the impact.
