I am currently working with hamari pahchan NGO (sukhad project)which helps people in need
This project is about safe Menstruation for underprivileged Women *
This is created for those women who hide their pain and can't demand necessary things in their period days.This will help them in a way so that they can spend their menstrual days comfortably with proper means ,knowledge and live freely. Hamari pahchan NGO try their best to provide anything and everything to people in need and I as an intern will do the same.I will help those unprivileged women by providing them with sanitary pads, educating them regarding menstrual hygiene, and making all of them understand about ‘Periods’ and educating them for the same.The basic knowledge everyone should have about menstrual days are as follows:
1.eating well ,avoid skipping meals.
2.be hydrated
3.keep changing your pad in every 6th hour due to hygiene purposes.
It is not something to be ashamed of,its not an issue,its natural,its okay.
A lot of women in rural areas have been quiet about it,the stereotypes in villages keep women away to talk and to be educated about it.
Young girls should be properly educated about periods.The availability of pads in villages is really short,one has to go to the near city to buy them.According to some surveys, most of the women avoid using sanitary pads and tampons because of the high price ,long distance or some myths they hear,and use a cloth instead for bleeding.
We as a community are trying to help these women by providing necessary products like sanitary pads,tampons, menstrual cups which will help them live their days easily with lesser problems and with comfort.its not a luxury ,it a necessity.
