I am fundraising to help my dad undergo a heart surgery

My mother, Mrs. kunta umashankar chauhan has recently underwent open heart surgery for mitral valve replacement at nanavati hospital ,vile parle on 19th june 2019 . And ever since the surgery she's kept in the ICU because she keeps getting arrhythmias . So, the doctors have started her on anti-arrythmatic drugs and if that does not go well for her she will need permanent pacemaker .

We belong to a middle class family and we have been financially unstable lately . We could only arranged around RS. 500000 by taking loans from our relatives ang her outstang bill is of RS. 600000 till date and if she requires paemaker then the bill will go higher. Hence funds are required. Please help in the best possible way which will help me to get my mother treated.

I will be using the funds to treat my mother which involves surgical cost, medicines, ICU stay, consumables.

Dear Supporters,

I am Sudhakar, a Milaap Open fellow in Bengaluru. I spoke to Dimple, Somnath’s daughter today.

Somnath underwent the bypass surgery on 25th November 2015. The bypass surgery was successful despite the multiple other illnesses that he had. He has now reached the age of 60 and has stopped going to work every since the heart attack last year. He was working with Unitech Automobiles.

The post surgery treatment is also complicated because of multiple reasons. He has had to consult several super specialists. The haemoglobin count in his blood was low post the surgery. He was suspected to have cancer, for which he was referred to a hematologist. While cancer has been ruled out, he is now taking medication to correct the haemoglobin levels. He is also a diabetic, for which he has to monitor his sugar levels and visit a diabetologist regularly. He has been asked to visit a cardiologist every 3 months for various tests to track progress of his health.

Deepti says, “While I managed to raise the rest of the funds from my friends and family, the surgery would not have been possible without the support of the contributors on Milaap. The funds were extremely helpful. Thanks a lot to each and every one of you.”
