Why am I fundraising?
Chennai's hosting its biggest charity mela: Daan Utsav. As part of Daan Utsav, the Battle of the Buffet is an innovative and interesting concept where donors get to make a difference to our beneficiaries' lives (and their waistlines!) in one single night. We want residents of the AIM for Seva Krupa home to enjoy this splendid five-star meal along with Chennai's donors, exemplifying our goal of an inclusive society for those with mental disabilities.
At the event, we would like to show people: Yes, we can dine with people with developmental disabilities, converse with them, and live with them in an integrated society.
And to let our residents (all of whom are adults with developmental disabilities such as autism) that we appreciate them for who they are.
With the funds collected, we would like to: expand our care facility to include a dormitory.
Each ticket to the event costs Rs. 7500, and will go entirely to the NGO--the meal is free!
What do I plan to do with the funds?
AIM for Seva Krupa Home is the result of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s vision of creating a Model Community where the people with disabilities live with dignity, are included and integrated with the rest of the society, are respected unconditionally, and lead lives that reflect quality, value, self worth, and achievement and independence. With vocational training, daily schedule, gardening, personalized medical care amist sylvan surroundings, AIM for Seva Krupa Home is a haven for adults with developmental disabilities such as autism. The funds will be used toward the construction of a dormitory for AIM for Seva Krupa residents, the number of whom are growing by the month.
The total cost of the dormitory is Rs. 22,50,000 and any contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference.
