Let's save some lives, on this special day!

More than 10 children are dying in India in the 5 minutes that you spend in reading this. According to UNICEF, 1.2 million children died (in India alone) of preventable diseases in 2015
You can either choose to ignore or MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

The Beginning ...
“During my field visit as a Prime Minister's Rural Development Fellow, one day I saw two infant deaths; both of which were easily preventable.
One baby died of pneumonia; the baby was delivered at home, as the mother ran away from hospital and subsequently, she did not breast-feed the baby.
The other was born as a low birth weight baby as mother believed in eating minimal for a convenient delivery.
Extremely perturbed, I decided to take on a mission, not just to prevent such deaths, but also, ensure a healthy childhood for every baby.”
Rajesh Tamadapally, Co-founder (First 1000 days)

Many such deeply disturbing experiences led to some fellows PMRDFs (Prime Minister's Rural Development Fellow) joining hands for the cause of child survival & development.

Why are we fundraising?
We have initiated a few successful pilots & here is a snapshot of our journey till now.
We need to demonstrate our impact at scale so that we can influence policy & programmatic changes at the state/national level. So, this financial year (2017-18), we are planning to demonstrate impact at a scale of 100 villages in Central India.

First 1000 Days
The first 1000 days of a child’s life not only impact it's survival but also determine it's physical & cognitive development for her/his entire life. It also affects the child's educational ability and lifetime economic productivity, forcing them into a vicious cycle of ill- health and poverty. Effects of stunting (a form of malnutrition; height-for-age) below 2 years of age are irreversible too. Read more

What do we plan to do with the funds?
This fund would be used majorly for building technology infrastructure, R&D and building systems  necessary for scaling up operations to 100 villages.
Here’s how your contribution can make a difference:

Amount (INR)
Educate a family
~500 per month
Educate 3 families
~1500 per month
Educate 5 families
~2500 per month
..... and so on so forth
